Small Space, Big Impact

This project began with a client seeking to replace a failing exposed aggregate patio. Our challenge, while focusing on functionality and aesthetics, was to maximize a compact space for optimal outdoor living and incorporate permeable hardscape solutions.

Inspired by the sleek black-and-white exterior of their modern farmhouse architecture, our design team envisioned a harmonious blend of form and function. We implemented black copings on steps and landings to echo the bold lines of the home. At the same time, light grey paving stones were selected for the patio and surrounding areas, creating a serene and cohesive outdoor environment.

Despite the constraints of a small Birmingham lot, we transformed the space into a versatile oasis that seamlessly integrates with the home’s architectural style.
