Grand Front Entrance
About The Project
Often clients come to us with a specific goal they hope to achieve with their design. This West Bloomfield project had two main priorities: update the front porch, which was starting to sag and become unsafe for their family. Second, provide more privacy to their home on a busy main road.
The porch and landing were designed using Thermal Bluestone to match the classic look of their house. Classic plants like Green Velvet Boxwood, Dwarf Korean Lilac and Incrediball Hydrangeas now surround the walkway. In addition, numerous large evergreens were installed on the berm between the home and the road. This installation helped minimize visibility onto the client’s property.
The clients also love Japanese gardens and wanted to incorporate some plants used in traditional gardens. We were able to add a large ten-foot Japanese Maple ‘Bloodgood’ into their driveway island.
Ultimately, we were able to fully transform their front entry into a more grand entrance that complemented their home and provided them privacy from the road. Our clients were thrilled with the results, and we were happy to meet their expectations.
