When creating a safe and enjoyable backyard for a growing family, the journey is often filled with unique challenges and unexpected turns. This was the case for one client who envisioned a perfect outdoor space where they could host gatherings and let their children play freely. 

Upon moving into their new home, the family faced a significant obstacle in their backyard. The yard was on a steep slope with a daunting 4-foot drop-off, making it impractical and unsafe for young children. Their vision of a backyard where their family could enjoy sunny afternoons and host gatherings seemed out of reach. But with the help of a skilled designer, they were determined to make their dream a reality.

The family reached out to Lynn, a talented and experienced designer known for her innovative solutions and ability to turn challenges into opportunities. As Lynn began the design process, it became clear that there would be several hurdles to overcome. Not only did she have to address the steep slope in the backyard, but she also had to work around ongoing interior renovations. The client’s priority was to ensure that the interior and exterior designs complemented each other seamlessly.

Through thoughtful project management and a dedicated crew, our team completed the installation efficiently, and the client got a safe and expansive backyard space for their family—including a custom-built fire pit and a large patio to host family gatherings.
