For over 40 years, Four Seasons Garden Center & Custom Landscape Design has been building a team dedicated to providing the best client experience and ensuring the right company culture. Today, we introduce you to one of our team members who plays a significant role in our continued success.
Liz McCloskey is the Operations Coordinator and is in her third year at the company. She is responsible for ensuring our entire operation runs effectively and efficiently. In her role, Liz oversees purchasing materials for projects and scheduling our crews.
A Day in the Life of Liz McCloskey, Operations Coordinator
Liz enjoys the challenge of juggling multiple hardscape and landscape projects simultaneously. Her favorite part of her role is ordering the plants. “I enjoy organizing the plants by project and getting a first glimpse at how a landscape design will come together. It’s one thing to see a drawing on paper, but entirely different to see the colors, shapes, and textures of the living plants and how they complement one another.”

Before joining the team, Liz graduated from Denison University with a degree in Biology. After graduating, she spent several years working on sustainable/regenerative farms, learning about ecological approaches to agricultural production. “I love working outside, especially when that work revolves around plants, but I also love a logistical challenge! When I came to Four Seasons, I was looking for an opportunity to put my problem-solving skills to work, but also in an environment where I could be outside and around plants—it was a perfect fit!”
An environmental background and a love for nature
While Liz came to Four Seasons with an environmental background and a love for nature, she was surprised to learn all the moving parts that go into our design-build installs. “The biggest learning curve has been understanding hardscape installations. There are so many different types of materials and specific processes that require specialized machinery or tools at each step, depending on the type of project. I had no idea how much knowledge and skill the designer and the crew required to install a project. I’m impressed with our team and continually learning from their expertise to ensure our crews are well-equipped and ready to go on day one of any project.”
