Located on the south shore of the Clinton River on the way to Lake St. Clair, North Star has always emphasized camaraderie and a shared love of sailing. The clubhouse hosts many sailing and social events throughout the year, including instruction for youth and new sailors, weeknight and weekend fun sails, races and regattas in addition to numerous organized cruising and social events. With the number of events and casual get-togethers the club was looking for a way to increase capacity and versatility of the facility.

It was proposed to extend their social atmosphere out of doors where members and guests could mingle near the water in comfort and style. To host their varied activities the club needed an outdoor kitchen designed to accommodate multiple cooks for larger crowds.

The newly designed patio kitchen is outfitted with a 5-foot commercial grill and is a big hit with the members! The line-of-fire table brings soft light and warmth as the members gather to enjoy the camaraderie well into the evening, watching the river flow past.
