It’s Official: Lynn Cavanaugh, CNSP
Our beautiful state of Michigan has over 11,000 inland lakes, and Oakland County alone is home to over 1,400 of them! That is why Senior Designer, Lynn Cavanaugh, became a Certified Natural Shoreline Professional (CNSP) last year.
Lynn recognized that several of our clients have lakefront homes, and a growing number have summer homes in northern Michigan. Our lakefront clients need the expertise provided by this certification. We support Lynn’s continued participation in this program as part of our commitment to sustainable landscapes. The Natural Shoreline Certification Program promotes green landscaping technologies and bioengineered erosion control to protect Michigan inland lakes.
This program has equipped Lynn with the tools to design better, implement and maintain natural shoreline landscapes and bioengineered erosion control on inland lakes.
To receive a certificate of completion, individuals must participate in classroom instruction, attend the field training session, and pass the certification examination. Certification is provided by the Michigan Natural Shoreline Partnership (MNSP) and is updated every three years through continuing education.
We are proud to have supported Lynn for Certfication
Certified Natural Shoreline Professionals have demonstrated competency in shoreline and near shore soils, plant communities, aquatic habitats, water law and permitting, wave energy assessment and the methods and techniques involved in designing natural shoreline landscaping and bioengineered erosion control on inland lakes.
That’s a lot of language, but we want to shine a light on this organization to let homeowners in our area know the importance of educating themselves and that resources are available to protect our lakeshore habitat. It also indicates that we are a resource for homeowners who share concerns. Educational materials for lakeside landowners are available here.
So maybe we’re bragging a little. We’re proud of Lynn and of being a trusted leader in the industry for over 30 years.
